Located close to the train station and bus routes, our Telford campus is only a few minutes walk from each.
Derwen College Telford offers young adults (aged 16-25), with special educational needs and disabilities, the opportunity to develop core skills that directly relate to their aspirations.
Students attend on a daily basis and can learn on a number of pathways or programmes:
- Hospitality pathway
- Business Support, Sales & Marketing pathway
- Learning for Life
- Supported Internships
Our Telford campus can welcome 35 students. Each student has a bespoke timetable to facilitate their own progression and skill development.
As well as learning key work skills, students also learn independence skills with the aim to become more self-reliant. Independence skills can include:
- Travel training
- Planning, preparing and cooking food
- Personal safety (including online)
Locally we have many facilities available. These include shopping, leisure, gym and tourist attractions (Blists Hill, Iron Bridge, RAF Cosford etc.) for students to visit to gain confidence in their independence skills.
Socialising and friendship building is a core aspect of life at Derwen College Telford with activities implemented to facilitate these opportunities.
