Derwen College Ludlow offers a spacious and accessible environment for day students.
We welcome local students from across south Shropshire and neighbouring counties, including Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Powys.
Derwen College Ludlow offers up to 25 learners the opportunity to develop core skills that directly relate to their aspirations.
Students, aged 16 to 25, with special educational needs or disabilities, including autism, can access the following pathways and programmes:
Business Support & Enterprise pathway
- Learning for Life
- Springboard
- Supported Internships
The pathways include qualifications and work placements, and equip students with key employment skills for after they leave College.
Students at our Ludlow campus attend on a daily basis and are each given a bespoke timetable to facilitate their own progression and skill development.

Independence
As well as learning key work skills, students also learn independence skills with the aim to become more self-reliant. Independence skills can include:
Travel training
- Planning, preparing and cooking food
- Cleaning
- Laundry
- Personal safety (including online)
A core aspect of life at Derwen College Ludlow includes socialising and building friendships. Staff plan activities to facilitate these opportunities.
Derwen College has three satellite campuses for day students at Ludlow, Walford, and Telford. Residential and day students also attend the main Gobowen campus, near Oswestry.
