Derwen College Statement on the use of the 16 to 19 Tuition Fund: 2021 to 2022
As required by the ESFA (detailed in their document 16 to 19 Tuition Fund: 2021 to 2022, released in September 2021) we are publishing this concise statement to explain how we are using these funds to support our students.
The additional funding made available to the college will be used to provide additional staff support to enable the provision of targeted small group tuition for specific cohorts. The students have all been assessed by staff as requiring intervention in order to ‘catch-up’ following disruption to their learning caused by the restrictions of the Coronavirus pandemic. The identified focus of this work will be on employability skills which, for some students, have been particularly impacted.
It is envisaged that this highly targeted intervention throughout 2021–22 will serve to address the attainment shortfall of these learners all of whom have Special Educational Need and Disabilities.
