Derwen College Governor/local Oswestry entertainer Mark Lord is back on stage again this June with a concert to raise funds for Derwen College.

Following the huge success of his concert last year to mark his 60th birthday, Mark and friends have decided to do all again – for charity.

This year, Mark and his friends have formed a group – Take Five,  and they will be performing a medley of songs from the past six decades. The concert will also feature song and dance performances by Performing Arts students from Derwen College, who last year brought the audience to a standing ovation.

Mark said: “We had such a fabulous night at last year’s concert, we just had to do it again! My friends and I were so impressed with the talent displayed by Derwen College students, that we had to include them too. We have been practising for weeks now and have got a great programme of songs lined up.

“All funds raised from this event will be used to support the Performing Arts programme at Derwen College.”

The concert takes place on Friday, June 23 at the Holroyd Community Theatre in Weston Rhyn, near Oswestry, SY10 7SZ. Tickets are £12 and include drinks and canapes on arrival. They are now available online or by calling Derwen College on 01691 661234.

There is also raffle being held to support the concert, and the prizes include:
