What does transition mean?

Transition is all about what happens after you leave Derwen College.

Believe it or not, we are preparing you to leave college almost as soon as you arrive at Derwen!

Your learning journey at Derwen will also include preparation for leaving college as independent and ready for work as you can possibly be.

This transitional preparation is important, and is fulfilled through a series of long-term learning opportunities including:

• Vocational learning on one of our pathways or programmes;
• Learning independent living skills;
• Undertaking work placements both on-site at Derwen, and locally in external placements;
• Creating your CV;
• Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance.

Furthermore, once your pathway or programme has ended, you might consider undertaking a Supported Internship at Derwen.
