The fire completely gutted the concert hall

The timber-built concert hall sat within the grounds of the College, and was a place for students to socialise.

Following the fire, a fundraising effort went into full swing and in the same year a new concert hall was built.

Today, the hall is still in use as a very busy Student Union. It is a central social area for students to spend their leisure time.

The Student Union has a coffee bar, music, games and is also used for discos, bingo and other social events.
