Autism Education Trust (AET) Professional Development

Derwen College is excited to deliver AET’s Post-16 Professional Development programme

The Post-16 Professional Development Programme offers training and resources to professionals working in various settings for autistic young people above 16 years.

The Programme is supported by the Department for Education, and offers an essential part of your Continuing Professional Development.

Co-produced with autistic people, parents and education professionals, the programme can now be delivered flexibly to Post-16 staff, leaders and employers across Shropshire.

Available modules

There are a growing number of training modules from which to choose. The programme topics range from the awareness-raising ‘Making Sense of Autism’ module to the ‘Transition to Employment’ (for employers and employability professionals).

All modules can be accessed face-to-face or virtually, and can be delivered in instalments (eg. twilight sessions) to suit need.
