Representatives from each learning area at Derwen College sit on the Student Council.

Members of the Student Council are democratically elected by students every October.
One Representative from each pathway area, satellite campus and residence sit on the Student Council.
Student Council Representatives have a clear vision of Learner Voice. Council members recognise how their voice can affect change within the organisation in order to improve the student experience.
Every term Student Council Representatives hold a meeting with our Principal and Governors. Representatives voice and carry forward peers’ ideas during these meetings. The Student Council is also involved with community projects which raise the profile of Derwen College and Learner Voice.
The Student Council regularly attend Natspec’s Student Voice Parliament. Here learners with SEND in Further Education are part of a collective and learner-led voice, to talk about subjects important to them.
