Registration information for the 2021 Sponsored Walk: Easter Challenge, 29th March – 11th April
Sponsored Walk: Easter Challenge Route information
This year’s annual Sponsored Walk will take us around Great Britain, visiting areas where Derwen College students have come from in recent years – all virtually of course!
The route covers over 2,000 miles and takes us through England, Scotland and Wales. Starting and finishing at Derwen College, this is a group challenge, so the more of us that take part, the easier it will be.
Sponsored Walk Dates
Staying within government COVID-19 guidelines for your area, complete one, or a number of activities any time between 29th March and 11th April to help us complete the Easter Challenge.
Remember to wear appropriate clothing for your activity. And it is important to follow the Highway Code to keep yourself and other safe. Please click here for the Highway Code Rules for Pedestrians.
There are three simple steps to getting involved in the 2021 Sponsored Walk: Easter Challenge
|1||Register via this link, for £8 per person. Each person registered on the walk will receive a goody bag and medal, and you have the opportunity to purchase an Easter Challenge t-shirt for £8.|
|2||When you have registered, you will receive a code to join the challenge on Challenge Hound (please check your junk/spam folder if you do not receive the email into your inbox). Please note: each person will need either a fitness tracker account or Facebook account to join the challenge.
You can link your Garmin, Under Armour Connected Fitness (MapMyRun, MapMyRide, MapMyWalk, MapMyFitness) or Strava account to the challenge. Any activities recorded using these apps will automatically upload to the challenge.
If you don’t want to use a fitness app, you can connect with your Facebook account, and upload your activities manually.
|3||To raise sponsorship for your challenge, or to ask friends and family to make a donation, please use the Derwen College VirginMoney page.|

Find out more about Derwen College Charity
Derwen College has had charity status for over 50 years. Find out more about what we do.
We continue to fundraise to provide our students with opportunities to enhance their learning and independence skills. However, Derwen College relies on donations to make this happen. We raise funds to provide the specialist tools, equipment and experiences our students need to reach their goals.
If you are unable to take part in the Sponsored Walk, there are other ways of supporting Derwen during 2021:
1 – Donate directly to Derwen through our Virgin Money Giving account.
2 – Do some fundraising! Contact our Fundraiser Anna Evans to discuss your ideas and get involved.
3 – Come to one of our events. Things are a little different at the moment, but keep an eye out for any virtual events we have.
