Several hundred people attended the Quinta Solstice Festival on Saturday 20 June, enjoying an afternoon of sunshine, music and family fun in front of Weston Rhyn’s ‘Clone Henge’, the Grade II listed Quinta Stone Circle, near Oswestry.

As the festival’s  nominated charity, Derwen College offered games, crafts, face painting and refreshments to the families and visitors to the event as they enjoyed the mix of bands and acoustic musicians.

Headlining band, Rock of Ages, gave a tremendous performance and had the crowd dancing and singing late into the night with the Quinta stone circle delivering a stunning backdrop to the stage.

Marketing, Events and Fundraising Manager, Becky Bowyer said: ‘It was a delight to have Derwen College involved in such a fabulous event and we’re very grateful to Steve and Davina Kynaston for their support to the college.

“The donated proceeds go towards making Derwen College the place of possibility that it is for our students, providing opportunities such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme, which students will be celebrating their success at next week’s award celebration.

“The Quinta Solstice Festival was an inspired use of the magnificent stone circle that sits within Steve and Davina’s property, and we thank them for including us.”
