We’re really proud to be supporting Ifton Bowling Club in St Martins with their initiative to sell advertising space to local businesses.
We recently enjoyed a visit to the club and a look around with Geraint Williams, who has been working hard to raise revenue from the club’s advertising spaces and help give the club a bright future as it approaches its 100th birthday.
Ifton Bowls has celebrated a new Terry Williams Clubhouse, a fresh coat of paint, floodlights and attractive floral planter thanks to community support and securing local business adverts.
For the College, it opens up valuable advertising space to promote Derwen Marketplace as well as volunteering opportunities, with further road-side space to promote key fundraising events through the year.
With Derwen College also looking forward to celebrating our centenary next year, it feels extra special to be able to support another much-loved local organisation with strong community roots.
Ifton Bowling Club, which has teams in the Shropshire league, has been transformed over the past nine months and is continuing to raise funds for bowls equipment, with plans for taster sessions to encourage youngsters and new starters to give the game a go.
