Derwen College Fete and Dog Show 2026, Essential Information

We look forward to seeing you at this year’s Fete and Dog Show, taking place Saturday 13 June 2026.

It is FREE to get in to this year’s Derwen Fete and Dog Show (competition entry charges apply). Here’s some handy information to help you plan your visit.

Derwen Fete and Dog Show Opening Times

The Fete and Dog Show will be open 10am to 4pm Saturday 13 June 2026.

What’s On?

  • Local craft stalls
  • Derwen stalls and games
  • Marketplace outlets will be open
  • Tea and scones will be served in The Orangery Restaurant
  • Lawn games
  • BBQ, ice cream, bar and picnic area

Dog Show

Entries for our fourth annual dog show open at 10am. The event is sponsored by Duffy’s Diner in Oswestry, who have also donated fantastic prizes for the winners of each class.

Taking place on the bowling green, entries are £2 per dog, per class.

Classes will begin at 11:30pm, and each class will last approximately 20 minutes.

Best in Show will take place at approximately 3:30pm.

Classes include:

  • Most Handsome Guy
  • Best Puppy (puppy 12 months and younger)
  • Waggiest Tail
  • Cleverest Dog
  • Prettiest Bitch
  • Best Veteran (dogs over 7 years)
  • Scruffiest Dog
  • Best in Show (all winners from previous categories)

Fete Competitions

Following the success of our fete competitions last year, they are back for 2026!

We are holding arts and crafts competitions, with opportunities for both children and adults to take part.

Located in Derwen College reception, entries are £2 each.

Open for entries from 10am, all entries to be submitted by 11am.

Each category has a youth (under 25) and adult class:

  • Recycled art
  • Handmade wearable item
  • Jar of homemade chutney
  • Photography (Theme: My home)
  • Homemade cake (Theme: Flowers)
  • Flower arrangement (Theme: Seasons)

Derwen College Grand Raffle

The Grand Raffle will take place on Saturday 13 June at 3.30pm.

Buy your tickets online or in person at Derwen College, Derwen Marketplace or on the day at Derwen Fete & Dog Show.

Raffle tickets are available NOW. You can buy them online or at Derwen College reception, The Vintage Advantage charity shop, and the Garden Centre and Gift Shop.

Fete and Dog Show Duck Race

The Duck Race will take place after the Grand Raffle draw on Saturday 13 June.

Cash or Card?

Entry into the fete is FREE, although there will be donation stations at the entrances should you wish to donate to Derwen Charity.

The stalls and outlets to purchase food and drink may not always have a card machine for payments, and may only be able to take cash. There is no cash machine on site at Derwen, so please ensure you bring cash with you. You can find the nearest cashpoint here.

Fete Parking

The entrance for ALL visitors during the Fete & Dog Show will be at Derwen College Entrance A, Twmpath Lane, Gobowen.

Blue badge holders are invited to park via Entrance C (main/Orangery Restaurant entrance on Whittington Road).

Public Transport

The Fete is accessible via Arriva Buses from Oswestry Bus Station (services 2 and 53). The nearest bus stops are Park Hall Derwen College and Gobowen Agnes Hunt.

Gobowen Railway Station is a 15 minute walk from the Fete. Regular trains arrive at Gobowen from Chester, Shrewsbury and Birmingham.
