A big thank you to the five-strong Practice Plan marketing team who swapped their Oswestry office for a busy day of volunteering.
The team made a great start in our College orchard, picking apples and filling two tubs for our Food Centre and commercial kitchen. They also collected and cleared fallen fruit for composting. After lunch and a well-earned slice of Victoria sponge, made by our hospitality team, they spent the afternoon sorting and steaming clothes at Derwen Charity shop, The Vintage Advantage.
Danielle Scott, Events and Marketing Manager at Practice Plan Limited, said: “All employees receive two volunteering days a year, which encourage us to support a charitable cause and give back to our community.
“Derwen College is well known locally so we thought we’d like to get involved. We really appreciated the range of volunteering options at the college, and we’ve been really well looked after. It was lovely to meet staff and students and see how welcoming and inclusive everything is here.”
The two tubs of apples have already gone to the College’s food centre, and the rest of the harvest will follow next week.
