This week, 13th-17th October, Derwen College is celebrating work experience week in conjunction with Fair train.
“WEWeek2014 will be held on 13th-17th October 2014 and is an opportunity to raise the profile of work experience, let’s work together to bring down youth unemployment.
Work Experience Week is a chance for Training Providers, Employers and Young People to get involved in work experience.
Work experience allows young people to have a great experience which allows them to build a platform for their future – whilst doing this it is also opening doors for employers, providing them with fresh minded, motivated and innovative individuals.
During work experience it is important to provide full support – after all work experience is only worthwhile if it is of a good quality. That is why Fair Train have introduced a Work experience Quality Standard.”
In August 2014 Derwen College’s work experience team achieved a work experience quality standard, gold award.
