Derwen College is delighted to announce a new addition to our #TeamDerwen Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon squad.
Former Derwen College student Adam Ffoulkes-Fenner is travelling back from his home town of Croydon to brave the 13.1-mile Lake Vyrnwy course to raise money for Derwen College Charity.
Adam, aged 22, who left Derwen College this summer, has been in training, keeping in shaped for the gruelling challenge over the summer holidays.
Since leaving Derwen College, the former hospitality student, is continuing to study Catering and Hospitality at Surrey’s Nescot FE College.
During his time at Derwen, Adam reached the national finals of a catering competition and achieved his Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
We can’t wait to see him again and know his determination and fitness will see him through.
To support Adam and the team of 10 Derwen College staff and friends you can donate here.
Or go along to Lake Vyrnwy at 1pm on Sunday, 8th September to cheer along him and the rest of the team.
We asked Adam to tell us a little bit about his motivation for running:
