Vulnerable adults exist in all areas of society and it’s important that we understand what we can do to promote their welfare and safeguard them from potential harm. This Safeguarding Adults course aims to help increase your knowledge of the subject so that you feel confident in recognising abuse, reporting your concerns and promoting a good quality of life for all the vulnerable adults you work with.
This course is delivered by a qualified and experienced Safeguarding manager, and is suitable for anyone whose job role involves working with vulnerable adults, whether it’s on a full-time or part-time basis. The course is suitable for workers at all levels, including managers, supervisors, full-time staff and volunteers, and requires no pre-requisite knowledge.
Examples of people who may wish to take this training include:
- Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Licenced Drivers Dental professionals
- NHS staff
- Care home workers
- Private healthcare workers
- Dental professionals
- Education establishments (adult learning)
The course covers:
Raising awareness of safeguarding and child protection, and how to respond in an appropriate and timely way
- Recognising the different types of abuse including the possible warning signs
- Explains what you need to do to raise a concern about possible abuse
- Keeping yourself safe when working
During this session delegates will explore and define types of abuse, responding to and reporting allegations and disclosures. Safeguarding is sensitively explored through a range of creative group activities and tutor-led discussions.
