Summer Fete 2019 Information
We look forward to seeing you at this year’s Summer Fete. Here’s some handy information to help you plan your visit.
Times
The fete will open at 12noon on Thursday 30th May. The Grand Draw will take place at 3pm and the event is expected to close by 4pm.
Parking
The entrance for ALL visitors on Fete day will be on Twmpath Lane. You can see the location of the Fete parking entrance on the below map.
Public Transport
The Fete is accessible via Arriva Buses from Oswestry Bus Station (services 2 and 53).
A free coach is available on a first come first served basis courtesy of Owen’s Coaches in Oswestry. The coach will pick up from Oswestry Park Gates at 11.30am and will also stop in Gobowen before reaching the fete by 12noon. The return bus will leave Derwen College at 3.30pm.
Gobowen Train Station is a 15 minute walk from the Fete. Regular trains arrive at Gobowen from Chester, Shrewsbury and Birmingham.

- £50 worth of plants from Derwen College Garden Centre
- Wine hamper donated by Rees Astley Insurance Brokers
- Bottles of wine donated by Rees Astley Insurance Brokers
- Lovingly made, extravagantly decorated chocolate cake from Derwen College
- Derwen College Homemade Hamper
- Meal for two in The Orangery Restaurant at Derwen x 2
- £25 Marks & Spencer voucher
Other prizes at the fete include a voucher from Tesco, Ellesmere and Shlurp, Oswestry.
