Volunteer Governor Roles – Vacancies
Be a different type of charity volunteer
Many people give generously of their time to work in their local charity shop, or raise funds. Others get involved by becoming a member of the Board of Governors that oversees the running of the organisation. We are now looking for new volunteer governors to join our team.
K Kimber, Board Chair, said, “At this time we are particularly seeking those with experience of Further Education. Derwen College educates young people, and is also home to a number of older people, with SEND, therefore knowledge of SEND is also an advantage. However, we are always interested in discussing options with individuals from a range of backgrounds including accountancy and business. A board of directors is a broad church and diversity is invaluable.
“Derwen College has always been extremely fortunate with the keen and talented individuals who have served as governors: we look forward to welcoming new people to the team.”
Cheese Donation
A huge thanks to Oswestry based Arla Foods who have donated a supply of various cheese blocks to Derwen College for the client cohort who live at Derwen and the care staff team working with the clients. The cheese was donated as a thank you to the commitment of the care staff and in recognition to the adherence to the lock down protocol by the clients.
Some tasty meal times await!
