Tiffins

Tiffins is the latest addition to the Derwen catering outlets for the public and opened in August 2009. The imaginative design of Tiffins, ultra-modern yet steepled and enchanting, provides a most delightful setting to relax. The innovative construction, with its bold lines, presents structural, architectural and sustainable features using the most traditional of building materials – wood. 

Situated next to Young’s Farm Shop, through the enticing doorway in the wall, this unique building overlooks the tea plantation and the garden that produces fresh fruit and vegetables for both Tiffins and Young’s Farm Shop. Seated inside or outside on the veranda, customers bask in the welcoming atmosphere and enjoy the very best home-made fare, including cakes baked on the premises, soup with the finest and freshest ingredients, real coffee and a range of quality teas and fine china – the Tiffins’ experience.

Tiffins was built to provide a venue for students to participate in work-based training and work experience, with the chance for paid work at the weekends. It is important that the students encounter different work situations and environments to broaden their skills and enhance their employability, from a large restaurant like the Orangery to the smaller food outlets, such as Tiffins.
