Brief Details:

An informal, drop-in style open day, covering all aspects of e-learning and uses of technology in the Special Education Needs sector.

Information:

Activities will be based around personalised assessment, tracking and empowering learners in their learning journey. Delegates will also gain invaluable information regarding the use of assistive technology in the Special Education Needs sector including;

  • Video Conferencing to ease transition & video linking


  • Assistive technology and ACCESS Centre (assessment centre)


  • iCue Project: intelligent kitchen project in association with Coventry University


  • Environmental and Access controls


  • Green technology: power distribution, server, VMware and desktop


  • Use of mobile devices: iPhone, DSi, voting systems, pocket cameras, PDAs experiences from MoLeNET 2 and 3 projects


  • SKYPE: for learners with communication difficulties



The open day will be held at Hereward College in Coventry a national, specialist, residential college of further education.
